COW FUN
COW FUN – I remember the day I requested this personal license tag at the Department of Motor Vehicles. They actually asked me if “COW FUN” was slang or gang-related. I kid you not, nor can you kid with the DMV. I told them the “COW” stood for “Coffee On Wheels”. Suffice to say, they wanted to know what “FUN” stood for. I told them “FUN” stood for “fun”, as in how ‘fun’ it would be to have the word fun on a license plate. This received no response. Like I said, you can’t kid with the DMV, but they let me have the plate anyway.
There’s mention of me being “The Coffee Lady” at various bicycle tours in my bio. This is where “Coffee On Wheels” or “COW” comes into play.
I bring this up because I’m actually on vacation this week. And yes, the Dahon is with me and yes, I’m at a bicycle tour.
Hmm, let’s see if you can guess where I’m at. I’ll give you a hint, “Aloha”.
Did anyone guess Michigan?
The bicycle tour is called “Michigander“, offered by Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance (MTGA). It is one of only two bicycle tours where I am “The Coffee Lady”. It’s a great escape from the Florida summer heat and a treat to ride in the north woods of Michigan to encounter chipmunks, black squirrels and the occasional skunk. There have even been sightings of deer and black bear, which is not something I worry about on the Oldsmar Trail.
Anyway, this year I rode a little of what the two-day tour offered:
It was absolutely wonderful to ride a few days and explore Michigan. The 8-day tour is at the halfway point and I only have a few more mornings of coffee service left to go.
Close to 400 are here enjoying their vacation by bicycle as am I (when I can) and of course, the morning coffee. This is how I’m spending my summer vacation and I’m loving every minute of it.
Savor the coffee, then get out there and ride!
Editor’s note: Don’t forget to “Rejjee Your Ride“. Rejjee is the only nation-wide multi-product registry and crowd sourced Lost & Found that includes discount product replacement offers on bicycles and supports Florida Bicycle Association.
