Oh, What a Month!

How was your Florida Bicycle Month celebration? Personally, mine got off to a great start.

April’s Fool! Just making sure you’re paying attention.

Seriously, there was so much cycling fun during March here in the Tampa Bay area, I may just split this blog into weekly segments. For this first post, my Florida Bicycle Month started with a virtual Bike Your Own City challenge, hosted by Forward Pinellas.

The goal was to find 20 items that could be found in any city, although I admit I had to visit a few neighboring cities to complete the list. Here are a few items I found while riding in Oldsmar:

A trail sign on our very own Oldsmar Trail
A water fountain
Although not on the official list, who doesn’t have an alligator somewhere in their town? This one likes to hang out on the northern end of the Oldsmar Trail.

The Bike Your Own City was the first of the March cycling challenges that made my Florida Bicycle Month fun. For the next post, I’ll share the fun with friends I had while riding the self-guided Temple Terrace History Tour. So what’s next? Only an April Fool would think the riding is over now that Florida Bicycle Month has ended, right? Sign up for the Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach Spring Bike Challenge and keep rolling towards National Bike Month in May!
