Race for Inclusion

Today we are sharing information on a Special Olympics Florida fundraiser:

Special Olympics Florida is proud to announce two incredible cycling events that are now open for registration: The Delray Beach to Vero Beach Cycle for Inclusion Century Ride and the Milton Cycle for Inclusion 25-mile ride. Both are part of the organization’s Race for Inclusion, a months-long campaign and fundraiser to support the athletes of Special Olympics Florida.

The Delray to Vero Beach Cycle for Inclusion Century Ride takes place on November 20. It is a 100- mile ride of ocean vistas and tropical scenery along A1A, through the heart of Florida’s Treasure Coast. The race includes a police escort and is sure to become one of the premiere cycling events in the Sunshine State. Not quite ready for 100 miles? Participants can also register for the 65- or 25- mile ride along the same great route.

The Milton Cycle for Inclusion is scheduled for December 4. Located in Florida’s panhandle, it is a 40K/25-mile ride along the scenic Blackwater Heritage State Trail. The ride – on a fully paved trail – begins and ends in Milton.

Both rides are part of Special Olympics Florida’s Race for Inclusion, a campaign and fundraiser that features a series of events around Florida. There are bike races, 5Ks, swims, and paddleboard events stretching from Key West to Pensacola. All the events help Special Olympics Florida provide sports training, health services, and leadership programs to nearly 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.

But the Race for Inclusion is more than a fundraiser: It is a movement to build communities of respect and acceptance – communities that empower people with intellectual disabilities to live richer, fuller lives. For more information, please visit the Race for Inclusion website.
