Last call for National Bike Month

My, how time flies when you’re having fun, especially when having fun on a bicycle.  As the month of May comes to a close, and thus the end of National Bike Month, it’s time to share a few moments of riding and passing of the Alert Today Florida safety baton.  Enjoy!

A side trip to ride around Lake Minneola before heading to Orlando.

Town of Eatonville Vice Mayor Rodney Daniels during the Bike Walk Central Florida Bike 5 Cities event.

The safety baton at the Dirt Devils Mountain Bike Festival on Virginia Key.

FBA award recipients Christine W. Fanchi and Jeff Torkelson during the City of Fort Lauderdale Transportation Summit.

A casual tour of the Oldsmar Trail and post ride refreshment with Forward Pinellas Executive Director Whit Blanton.

The safety baton went ‘national’ for National Bike Month with an appearance at the Ride of Silence in Houston, Texas with Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg and Bike Houston Advocacy Director Mary Blitzer.

The Houston trip was really to attend my niece’s graduation. She ended up joining me at the Ride of Silence.

The Dahon couldn’t make the Houston trip, but thanks to B-Cycle bike share, I got to ride..

..with the safety baton..in Texas!

As the month wrapped up in Florida, the baton was carried by Senator Kathleen Passidomo.

For Memorial Day weekend, the Dahon went ‘national’ with a trip to Georgia and a ride along the Suwanee Creek Greenway..

..and Chattahoochee Riverwalk trail in Columbus.

I hope you enjoyed National Bike Month as much as the Dahon and I did. Keep on pedaling!

Yes, do keep on pedaling – the National Bike Challenge continues through September!
